WINTER in April

Here's a re-cap of our wintery April.  A picture is worth a thousand words . . . and words just don't convey what this April has been like. (Last year we had the other extreme: 80 degrees. I like that extreme MUCH better.)

April 1st: We should have been making chili instead of ice cream. Brrrrr.
April 1st: Enjoying homemade ice cream in the warmth of our house.
April 12th: Snow Day at least means a day off school. No Photo-shop done!
April 20ish: My valiant crocuses soaking in the sun next to the warmth of the house.
April 27th: Our first day of 60 degrees. HOORAY!! It's FINALLY melting!!
April 27th: But snow still covers most of our yard!!
April 28th: 65 degrees and LOVING it! Ice Cream Time Again!!

April 30th: 70 today!! FABULOUS!!  (It was sunny all day ~ I took this picture at 8:30pm) Compare this picture to the last picture and notice the fence behind Rebecca & Hannah. Just two days of melting! Amazing!! No wonder there's flooding in parts of the U.P. (Also note on April 12th that the fence was completely covered as well as most of the bushes.)

Easter

Coloring Easter Eggs with Nana ~ Using a glue gun achieves very creative results!

Lila (Arthur's cousin's little girl) helped
color eggs.  It is a fun time coloring
eggs with an almost 2 year old.

My two beautiful daughers posing at Nana and Papa's house after church.

Time to change those clothes to have the Easter Egg Hunt out in the barn. The Egg Hunt in the barn was a first. Snow and "snain" (snow-rain mix) forced us inside. However, the weather caused for an extreme hunt through hay, beams, and all of the miscellaneous barn paraphanalia. Rebecca and Hannah both said that it was one of the best hunts ever.

Papa and Arthur were Egg-cellent egg hiders.

Even Toby had lots of fun joining in. It was his first time in the barn and he loved it. The sheep and llama just ignored him and he wisely ignored them.
Climbing on and over hay bales.
And always time to just play!!!!! :-)

7 Years Ago Today

Today marks the 7 year anniversary of Dad's massive heart attack.  Seven years ago: A phone call . . . a 6 hour sprint of a car drive . . . intensive care . . . not looking like Dad would make it through the night.  Then the wait . . .open heart surgery . . . huge aneurysm on the heart . . . the code blue . . . !!  He is indeed a walking miracle!!  I love you, Dad!!

Freeze Out Snow Camp

Last weekend Rebecca and Hannah had a fantastic time at Lake Ann Camp with their youth group.  Chapel sessions, music with a band by the name of HeartSong, and lots of fun in the snow with friends.  Here's a few pictures.

Night Tubing!!!!

Lots of time with friends.
