7 Years Ago Today

Today marks the 7 year anniversary of Dad's massive heart attack.  Seven years ago: A phone call . . . a 6 hour sprint of a car drive . . . intensive care . . . not looking like Dad would make it through the night.  Then the wait . . .open heart surgery . . . huge aneurysm on the heart . . . the code blue . . . !!  He is indeed a walking miracle!!  I love you, Dad!!

Freeze Out Snow Camp

Last weekend Rebecca and Hannah had a fantastic time at Lake Ann Camp with their youth group.  Chapel sessions, music with a band by the name of HeartSong, and lots of fun in the snow with friends.  Here's a few pictures.

Night Tubing!!!!

Lots of time with friends.

Birdfeeding

I continue to be in wonder of how God created birds to be able to survive in such frigid temperatures.  (Yesterday, Arthur saw 17 below on the car thermometer on his way into work.)  We gift the birds with some seed and they gift us with with being able to watch them through the window and listen to their tweets and songs even in the cold.  Three wild turkeys also showed up this past weekend ~ they have been fun to watch.

Tahquamenon Falls

While Rebecca and Hannah were at snow camp with the church youth group this weekend, Arthur and I spent some time outside in our winter wonderland.  We went up to Tahquamenon Falls.  Frosty Cold ~ But Beautiful!

We also went snowshoeing by lantern. It was so still and beautiful ~ even though it was only 7 degrees.  Good thing that there was a bonfire waiting at the end of the trail.

Winter in the Woods

Yes, here we are in our woods in the snowy north.  Could it be that communication does leave the U.P.??  Do we really intend to keep family and friends more current on pictures, happenings, and overall news of life north of the Bridge??  Can we really do this using technology such as blogging??  Yes, that is the intention.  We'll see if that intention turns into just "good intentions" or "intentional action".  Time will tell.
